Amerongen beneden

On the route from the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal to, for example, Wageningen, the MGD for the stretch Heteren to Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal applies. The bottleneck is at the ferry between Wijk and Rijswijk, on the left bank. The deepest channel is along the right bank. The bottom of the shoal on the left bank in the fairway lies at about gauge "Amerongen beneden" + 70 cm. The deep channel along the right bank is 25 to 30 m wide, and its bottom lies at gauge "Amerongen beneden" + 130 cm (subject to change, of course). This channel may not be fully usable when the ferry is on the right bank. The entrance to the approach channel of the Amerongen lock can also be somewhat shallow.
