Gauge Kelheim is on the Danube at kilometre 2410, on the km 2415–2399 stretch. The RNW is 250 cm and the fairway depth maintained below it (TuRNW) is 290 cm; after deducting 30 cm of safety margin the official rule of thumb comes out at Kelheim +10. In practice Kelheim +10 is used here. Upstream lies Ingolstadt, downstream Oberndorf.
