Gauge Pfatter is on the Danube at kilometre 2351, on the km 2354–2330 stretch. The RNW is 310 cm and the fairway depth maintained below it (TuRNW) is 290 cm; after deducting 30 cm of safety margin the official rule of thumb comes out at Pfatter -50. In practice Pfatter -50 is used here. At high water a Marke of 600 cm applies here. Upstream lies Schwabelweis, downstream Pfelling (Straubing Hafen Sand).
